
Description: You can start from either the Huger Park Landing on SC
402 or the Ralph Hamer Sr. Landing on Cainhoy Road. If you start from
the Ralph Hamer Sr. Landing you will paddle westward on Quinby Creek to
the confluence of the East Branch Cooper River and Huger Creek and then
turn north into Huger Creek. You will pass by marshland and old rice
fields for most of this part and higher ground and scrub forest as you
get nearer to Huger Park Landing. You may also extend your paddle by
making a 1.2 mile out and back trip up Gough Creek. You may see an
abundance of birds, especially wading birds, ducks, and osprey. Small
alligators may also be encountered throughout this area.
Length: 4.1 miles plus 1.2 miles for
the short trip on Gough Creek.

Hamer Sr. Landing From US 17 in Mt. Pleasant, drive north
on SC 41 to Huger, and then turn right onto Cainhoy Road (Berkeley
County S898). The landing is 0.2 mile on the right at the bridge.

Huger Park Landing From Ralph Hamer Sr. Landing, drive east on
Cainhoy Road (S898) and turn left and go straight north on SC 402. The
landing is approximately 2.5 miles on the left.
Hours: Dawn to dusk
