From the put-in on SC Highway 64 go south on Horseshoe Creek for an
approximately 3 hour trip to US Highway 17. The first part of your float
will be through a canopy of hardwood trees, which will open and you will
pass old tidewater rice fields. If you want to do a shorter trip, or
just make a lunch stop, Price’s Bridge Landing is on the right bank of
the creek after about an hour.
Tides are not a problem on Horseshoe
Creek, but it is good planning to reach the Ashepoo River on the falling
tide, which is 4-5 hours behind Charleston Harbor. Insect repellent is
recommended during the warm months.

Fees: A $3.00 fee is charged at Joe’s
