Description:
From the parking area at the
Buckhorn Gate, you will need to walk or ride approximately 0.9 mile on the
Brissy Ridge Trail to the junction of the out and back Pipsissewa.
Once you reach the junction of the North Lake Trail, you can return
or circle the lake.
You may see deer, squirrels, birds, snakes, and a variety of other
wildlife.
If you are riding a
mountain bike, be aware of signs reading "Foot Traffic Only."
No mountain bikes on Saturday.
Restrooms are available at the picnic shelters. Insect
repellant is recommended in warm weather. Pets are permitted on a
leash.
Length: 1.0 mile after 0.9 mile on the Brissy Ridge Trail. Connects to the Brissy Ridge and North Lake
trails.
Directions: From downtown Greenville, drive north on US 25/276 and turn
right onto SC 253. At the traffic light bear left to continue on SC 253.
Drive for 2.5
miles and turn left onto State Park Road (Greenville County S-23-344). The park entrance
is on the left. Enter the park and drive approximately 2.5 miles to the
loop near Buckhorn Gate and park on the left.
Once on the park road, continue to the Buckhorn Gate
parking area.
