Loading Trails
Bennett's Bay Heritage Preserve is an example of the Carolina Bay phenomenon. Carolina Bays are elliptical or oval basins found throughout the Atlantic Coastal Plain. The vast majority of these features are found in North Carolina and South Carolina. It is a nice place for hiking and wildlife observation, as several trails wind around the preserve.

We went there today (January 4, 2021) and it is terribly overgrown with branches and fallen trees blocking the trail. It would be a great hike except that it looks like it hasn't been cleared for a year or more.
