Summary:
This 6.3 mile natural surface trail winds through woods and open grassy areas. You may see birds, turtles and a variety of other wildlife amid the wild flowers, berry bushes and mixed foliage in the varying habitats.
Starting from Cypress Park the trail is a well marked loop. You will follow a dirt road and grassy path through woods and open fields, as you wind along a creek, and loop around ponds in Cypress Park. Part of the trail cuts through Sumter County's Crystal Lakes Golf course, so use caution when traversing this section. You may see birds, snakes, turtles and a variety of other wildlife amid the wild flowers, berry bushes and mixed foliage in the varying habitats. At Cypress Park, you can rest on benches or at picnic tables, Use caution when crossing roadways at several trail intersections.
Restrooms are available near the parking area at Cypress Park. Insect repellent is recommended in warm weather and pets are permitted on a leash.

Directions:From Broad Street (Business 76) in Sumter, drive north on US 521 and turn right onto Jefferson Road. Drive 1.3 miles and turn left onto N. Wise Drive. The trailhead is 0.2 mile on the right at the end of the parking area in Cypress Park.
