Comprising 296 acres, Ditch Pond HP contains a Carolina bay that was first documented in 1973.
Starting from the parking area, you have several choices. You can go right or left and walk around the perimeter of the preserve, or walk straight ahead to Ditch Pond. An observation area provides a place to view Ditch Pond, which is one of very few Carolina bays that has retained its natural state. Throughout the preserve you may see one or more of the following eight rare plant species, blue maidencane, Robbin’s spikerush, creeping St. John’s wort, piedmont water milfoil, awned meadow beauty, slender arrowhead, Florida bladderwort, and piedmont bladderwort.
This preserve is only open to foot traffic and it is unlawful to remove any plants or animals. Insect repellent is recommended during the warm months.

Directions:From Williston: Drive west on US 78 for approximately 3.0 miles and the parking area is on the right.
