Summary:
This park has recently been renovated with new shelters, a new basketball court, as well as a lovely .4-mile asphalt trail that winds throughout the park. It is a great place for an afternoon stroll.
Previously known as McSwain Park and named for the adjoining street, Newberry City Council renamed the park Dr. Ulysses S. Gallman Park after the noted Newberry educator on May 7, 2013. Gallman Park was recently renovated and added a new basketball court, picnic shelters and restrooms. With the installation of gravel and parking stops, a larger, more defined parking area was established. A .4-mile asphalt trail that winds throughout the park was added, as well as park benches and grills.
