Summary:
Goodale State Park is sure to please those who love wilderness canoe trips and kayaking in South Carolina, as paddling is one of the park’s main attractions.
You will start this out and back water trail near the spillway and paddle across Adams Mill Pond. Once you reach Pine Tree Creek, follow the white trail signs and wind through a forest of bald cypress trees. You may see a variety of birds such as the great blue heron and possibly and alligator or two. At a point where two logs are downed across the creek, turn around and return.
Canoes are available to rent: $7 for a half day and $12 for a day.
Directions:From Camden: Drive northeast on US Highway 1 and turn right onto Old Stagecoach Rd. (Kershaw County S2815). Drive 2.4 miles and turn left onto Park Rd. (S28331). The park entrance is 0.3 mile on the right.
