Located in the Carolina Sandhills, the three Mountain Bike Trails in Manchester State Forest are a network of tight trails along valleys, gullies, and by Campbell Pond. The trails are an extension of the popular network in adjacent Poinsett State Park. Campbell Pond Trail (purple) is an old revived trail on Manchester State Forest originating inside Poinsett State Park. Much climbing involved. Owl Hoot Trail (blue) is about 2/3rds flat woods with some hills on the west end. Fox Run Trail (Yellow) is a stacked loop rollercoaster ride through a shallow valley that adds distance to the Campbell Pond Trail.
A recreation permit is required to use trails in Manchester State Forest. They can be bought for $5/day or $25 for an annual pass. https://ssl.sc.gov/scfcpermitsales/PermitProfile.aspx.
During Dear Hunting Season (September 15 – January 2,) trails are only open on Sundays.
