Summary:
This trail offers scenic views of the Catawba River and is a great location for a variety of outdoor activities. The trail features rolling terrain with occasional steep grades. Along the trail are benches, trash cans and pet waste stations and several small bridges. This trail is in close proximity to restaurants and several cycling facilities in the Riverwalk development. Mountain bike trails with varying degrees of difficulty can be accessed from the PMC Trail.
The Piedmont Medical Center (PMC) Trail, located in the Riverwalk development, offers scenic views of the Catawba River and is a great location for outdoor activities. The over 3-mile trail is a 10 ft. wide bi-directional multi-use facility that connects to Cherry Road/Hwy 21 at its north end and to River Park to the south.
The trail features rolling terrain with occasional steep grades. Along the trail are benches, trash cans, pet waste stations, and bridges. Restrooms or Porta Johns are located at parking/access areas. The trail is located in a floodplain and is subject to flooding.
The PMC Trail connects to the the River Park Trail which ends at the parking lot and canoe/kayak launch area in River Park, which is a 75-acre nature park on the Catawba River. Bikes are allowed on the paved trail only in River Park. There are several natural surface trails in River Park for foot traffic only.
Park Hours: Open Daily 8 AM - 6 PM (Oct - Feb) / 8 AM - 8 PM (Mar - Sept)
Directions:Terrace Park | Rock Hill, SC 29730 – The trailhead will be on the right before the gravel parking lot and the boat launch.
Parking is available along Terrace Park. Additional parking is available along Herrons Ferry Road.
Additional parking is available along Herrons Ferry Road at River Park and a new parking area with restrooms, off Red River Road, is under construction and set to open in early 2018.
