The Reedy River rises in Greenville County in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, about 10 miles (16 km) northwest of the city of Greenville, and flows generally south-southeastwardly through Greenville, Lake Conestee Nature Park, and the Piedmont region into Laurens County.

This section of the Reedy River is a nice float that involves a little whitewater fun! Boyd Millpond impounds the Reedy River which runs from Greenville South Carolina all the way to Lake Greenwood. With a canoe or kayak, you can travel up the lake and into the Reedy River for many miles. Make sure water level is around 4.75 to 5.5 feet. While you could float at higher levels, it could be a little dangerous above 5.5 ft.

This is the best 3 to 4 hour float in the area and the take out is on Eckom Beach Road.

Directions:

From Greenwood: Take Hwy 25 N to Hwy 252 towards Laurens. Boyds Millpond is on the left.
