We walked near end of day in early June. We enjoyed hearing a lot of birds, saw a rabbit and a toad, lots of insects. The creek was beautiful. The trail was more overgrown that I imagined - lots of tall weeds/grasses. We walked as far as we could to the East and never saw any sort of overlook. (There is a park nearby with portable toilets - David Lex Minors Recreational complex.)
