Summary:
The park is named after Sgt. William Jasper, an American Revolutionary War hero. This Hardeeville park provides fun for the entire family including a picnic area, playground, fishing ponds, nature trails, canoe and kayak rentals, and The Sarge—an 18-hole disc golf course!
The park is located in Jasper County, which has a short southern coast along the Atlantic Ocean that includes a portion of the Sea Islands. The park encompasses over 300 acres of pine wetland providing favorable habitat for a variety of waterfowl, plant life and profusion of migratory birds. The area is rich in American history—serving as battle sites for the Cusabo Indians, colonial-era turbulence and a Civil War battle where Union troops trampled the Confederates after their seizure of Savannah, Georgia. Sergeant Jasper Park offers day-use amenities including access to several small fishing ponds, walking trails, a disc golf course, spacious banquet room, picnic shelter and a children's playground.
Hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily
Note: Visitors must purchase pass for fishing access and canoes and kayaks are available to rent for a fee.
Directions:From I-95 North: Take Exit 8 and turn left off ramp onto 278 and stay in left lane crossing over I-95. Turn left at the traffic lights, follow Medical Center Road (approx. 1 mile) until Sgt. Jasper Park sign, turn right. Park is approx. a half-mile on the right.
