Summary:
The Spanish Mount Trail is a tranquil, tropical trail located on Edisto Island, where most of the time there is a cool breeze calmly blowing, as well as shell mound sites.
Edisto Beach State Park features trails for hiking and biking that provide a wonderful tour of the park. The park’s environmental education center is a “green” building with exhibits that highlight the natural history of Edisto Island and the surrounding ACE Basin. One of the earliest Native American shell mound sites in South Carolina can be found at the western terminus of the Spanish Mount Trail.

Directions:From Highway 17: Take Hwy 174, 28 miles to entrance of the town of Edisto Beach. As you enter the town limits, the entrance to the park will be on your left.
