Beginning at the parking area, this moderately difficult two-loop trail winds through the center of the South Carolina Sandhills. You have the option of hiking the short loop (.7-mile loop) or continuing to hike the whole 1.7 miles. This trail is well maintained and marked, and the soft terrain makes this hike a bit easier on the feet. As you walk through a forest of tall pines and beautiful oak trees, you might see a hawk circling overhead, or a deer hunting for food. Although most of the wild life stays out of sight, they are not out of earshot. The congenial sounds of the local birds provide you with a peaceful background during your entire hike.
