This is a .4-mile, peaceful and remote gravel trail to scnic flat shoals on the Chattooga River where you can launch your canoe or kayak.
From the sign in the parking area, follow this .4-mile, peaceful, remote trail to scenic flat shoals on the Chattooga River. You will descend into a cool, pine, cedar, and hardwood forest as you wind down the gravel trail to the riverbank. You may see birds, deer, snakes, and other wildlife. This is an isolated area, so remember to bring water, and first aid supplies, in addition to insect repellent. Pets are permitted.

Directions:From Westminster: Drive northwest on US 76. Drive approximately 17 miles and turn right onto FS Road 795. Drive .7 mile to the parking area at the end of the road.
