Summary:
This 11-acre park offers an open-air pavilion, picnic shelters, benches, playground, public restrooms and a walking/biking trail.
From the parking area, begin this level, somewhat-isolated, easy-to-follow, out-and-back, paved trail that borders both residential, and commercial area. As you follow an old railroad bed surrounded by kudzu, wildflowers, sweet gum, pine, and magnolia trees, you may see a variety of wildlife including foxes, hawks, and brown thrashers.
Hours: Dawn to dusk
Insect repellant is recommended in warm weather.
Directions:From downtown Greenwood, drive north on Main Street and turn left onto West Cambridge. Drive to Kitson Street and turn left. Turn left again onto Hunter and the parking area is just past Saco Avenue on the left. Cyclists should consider parking at Ellison Avenue, because bicycles are not permitted in West Cambridge Park.
