Summary:
Calhoun Falls State Park offers a moderately difficult 1.75-mile loop trail, named the Cedar Bluff Nature Trail.
This rolling 1.7-mile, blue-blazed, loop trail begins at the trailhead near the tennis courts in Calhoun Falls State Park. You will descend wooden steps into a mixed pine and hardwood forest bordering scenic Lake Russell. As you loop toward the lake, you will discover unexpected vistas as you hike up and down gentle hills and across numerous footbridges. At the far end of the loop, you can take a spur trail to the camping area, or continue and return to the tennis courts. If you'd like to extend your hike, the Mariner's Nature Trail is located toward the marina and park headquarters/tackle shop.
Camping: Call 1-866-345-PARK (7275) or go online at www.SouthCarolinaParks.com to make your reservations today!
Directions:From Calhoun Falls: Drive north on SC 81 to the Calhoun Falls State Recreation Area main entrance. Enter the park and follow the signs to the tennis courts/swimming area. You will see the trailhead on your right just before the tennis courts. Park at the tennis courts, and walk back to the trailhead.
