Caesars Head State Park Update
Caesars Head restrooms and overlook are OPEN from 9 a.m. to sunset. Trail access is hike at your own risk. The only trails currently open are: Wildcat Wayside, Frank Coggins, Raven Cliff (to the overlook), Dismal Trail (not the loop), Tom Miller, and Gum Gap. Trails are open from 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. All other trails remain closed.

Closures Due To Wildfire Activity
Table Rock State Park, Caesars Head State Park, and Sassafras Mountain Overlook are closed due to wildfire activity along with their trail systems.

The Coldspring Branch Trail is one of a few alternatives to get back to the hike origin at Raven Cliff Falls parking. The trail is marked with orange blaze, crosses Coldspring Branch 10 times, and climbs nearly 1400 fatiguing feet. Registering with the park before using these trails is mandatory. The trails close one hour before dark, year round. The Coldspring Branch Trail connects to Bill Kimball, then joins #3 again.

Directions:Drive north from Caesar's Head State Park on Highway 276. After 1.1 miles there's a parking lot on the right. The entrance is at the far end. Park. Walk back up Highway 276 toward the park headquarters for about 0.1 miles until you come to a gated road on the left. There's a sign that says "Coldspring Branch Loop". The trail follows that road.
