Charles Towne Landing is the site of the first permanent European settlement in South Carolina. The site dates back to 1670 and provides historical trails, as well as nature trails with scenic views of the Ashley River.

This 15.5-mile wooded footpath provides the perfect vantage point to soak in the beauty of the narrow, twisting waterway that serves as the natural boundary between South Carolina and Georgia. Every turn in the trail offers a new and more beautiful panorama of the river and its densely forested gorge.

The Chattooga was designated a wild and scenic river in 1974. It is one of the longest and most spectacular free-flowing mountain rivers in the Southeast.

The Oconee County Parks Recreation and Tourism department calls Chau Ram County Park Oconee County’s “Best Kept Secret.” Visitors can enjoy hiking and biking trails, go tubing or fishing on the river, camp and enjoy the 40-foot waterfall and the suspension bridge over the river.

The Cherokee Path is a 1.5 mile trail from point to point. It was once a direct route for traders and trappers, Native Americans, and settlers to exchange merchandise between the backcountry and the Carolina coast. Today, you can hike the existing Cherokee Path at Ninety Six just as Native Americans and explorers.

This 1.5 mile paved multi-use trail is located in Cherry Park which is Rock Hill’s premier softball/baseball facility that also includes a large playground, picnic shelters, restrooms and other park amenities. Cherry Park can be enjoyed year-round and provides athletic programs for both youth and adults. This park trail is near Hargett Park, and connects to a bike route that takes riders through the Winthrop Lake area and to Glencairn Garden via quiet neighborhood streets.
